Trip Destinations

The Stubaital’s central location is perfect for discovering Tyrol’s numerous sights and trip destinations and for experiencing culture and history up close. The diverse range of concerts and events, and the traditional festivals and customs will bring a lot of additional variety and facets to your active holiday in the Stubaital. As well as the state capital Innsbruck with its rich history, the nearby town of Hall in Tirol is also a thoroughly worthwhile trip destination. This medieval town boasts the best-preserved and biggest old quarter in Austria. Whether in summer, when idyllic gardens invite one to linger a while, or in winter on a visit to

the romantic Christkindl market: Hall in Tirol is an enchanting place at any time of year for strolling, enjoying, shopping and enjoying culture. The town’s striking Münzturm, or Coin Tower, is now home to a popular museum. Here you can marvel at a globally unique roller minting machine, the world’s first thalers, and many other details of the history of coins in Europe. Make the effort to climb up the tower to enjoy the beautiful view of Hall’s old quarter and of the Inntal up to the Karwendel mountain range. Also, you don’t have to go far to experience pure culinary pleasure. Some businesses in Stubai invite you to sample products from the

region on site. Like the Stubaier Bienenhaus apiary in Neustift, where you can learn everything about the work of beekeepers and bees, and buy honey from the Stubaital as a souvenir. It is also possible to go on a guided tour of a distillery, including a schnapps tasting, in Fulpmes. Also located in Fulpmes is the Schlickeralm show dairy, where you can taste dairy products, from butter to Tyrolean gray cheese, with home-made farmhouse bread. We wish you lots of pleasure on your trips!

Swarovski Crystal Worlds

Sixteen fantastic chambers of wonders with an abundance of treasures, such as the sparkling Crystal Forest, await you inside the now world-famous Giant. The Swarovski Crystal Worlds were conceptualized in 1995 by the Austrian artist André Heller for the occasion of Swarovski’s 100-year anniversary. Embedded in an artistic park landscape with imposing art installations, such as a cloud made of 800,000 Swarovski crystals, there are many wonders here, at every turn, for children and adults.

Alpine Zoo

The Alpine Zoo is located at a height of 750 meters, at the foot of the Northern Range and above the roofs of Innsbruck. In the near-natural enclosures, terrariums and aquariums, there are about 2,000 alpine animals of around 150 different species to marvel at, from beavers, brown bears, wolves and ibexes to many species of birds and fish. One crowd puller, especially with the children, is certainly the show farm with its pigs, cows, goats, sheep and chickens. A beautifully arranged playground and a bistro to stop off at will make your trip to the Alpine Zoo perfect.

A visit to Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol, is always a varied experience for the whole family. Dynamic, modern, traditional and rich in culture and history, Austria’s fourth-biggest city has something to offer for every taste. Maria-Theresien-Straße, which leads into the old quarter at its northern end, is an invitation to go for a stroll, to shop and to settle down in one of the many street cafés, to indulge and enjoy Northern Range or the splendid baroque houses which will enchant you.

The old quarter with its landmark and trademark, the Golden Roof, which is covered with 2,657 gilded copper shingles, still also boasts many other splendid buildings. The imperial Hofburg, the chapel royal, which is also called “Schwarzmanderkirche” because of its 28 big black watchmen, the cathedral, and the idyllically located Schloss Ambras all bear testimony to the city’s eventful history.

A further historical highlight awaits you at the modern Museum Panorama on the Bergisel: with a 360-degree view and on 1,000 m², the giant panoramic painting shows the 3rd Battle on the Bergisel during the Tyrolean Rebellion led by Andreas Hofer. On the Bergisel there is also the ski jump designed by the star architect Zaha Hadid in 2002. Discover the variety of our state capital!
